Hi, my name is Kurtis Winegar. I'm 16 years old and I started Winegar's Kandle & Co. completely on my own. From pouring the wax and designing labels to building this website and creating new scents — every product is handmade by me with attention to detail and real purpose behind it.
My family also owns Winegar's Coffee & Creamery, which has been a part of Ellensburg for nearly 70 years. Growing up around a local family business inspired me to create something of my own that could bring people comfort, memories, and connection through scent and atmosphere.
The idea for this business started after a trip back to Wisconsin with my family. I realized people were spending $50–$60 on candles when I believed I could create something just as good — or even better — for a more honest and affordable price. That became the goal: luxury-feeling products without luxury pricing.
Every scent is created to tell a story or bring a feeling to life. Whether it's the fresh mountain air of Evergreen Rain, the tropical calm of Coastal Paradise, or the cozy coffee-shop comfort of Morning Roast — every kandle and air freshener is designed to make your home, car, or space feel warm, relaxing, and inviting.
But This Business Is About More Than Kandles
Faith is the biggest reason this business exists.
After attending Young Life camp in Malibu I found God in a way I never had before. That experience changed my life. Matthew 19:26 became my anchor — a reminder that with God all things truly are possible — even starting a business at 16.
$2 from every kandle sold goes directly to Young Life — helping students get the opportunity to attend camp and experience the same life-changing environment that impacted me so deeply. As this business grows my hope is to keep increasing that giving and make an even bigger impact for students who need it most.
